PaperC gets a lot of attention at the BookExpo America

Bill Glucroft’s first impressions of America’s largest annual book trade fair

PaperC’s International Content Manager Bill Glucroft is currently attending the BookExpo America (BEA) 2011- the largest annual book trade fair in the US. Bill is in high spirits and expects that PaperC will gain new co-operation partners and further importance on an international scale: “BEA off to a great start for PaperC! Day 1 was packed with meetings!” he wrote us in-between meetings, a quick drink of coffee in his hand.

Bill has already met with McGraw-Hill, Fordham University Press, Oxford University Press and Wiley – big publishers in the fields of the Social Sciences, Humanities and Economic Knowledge. There’s been a widespread interest in cooperating with PaperC on many different levels. What’s more PaperC’s business model seems to hit the mark when it comes to social features and user engagement. Bill also had a very promising meeting with Bowker – leading provider of global book information and decision-support solutions – that holds redistribution rights for a large number of PhD dissertations, publications, journal articles and books that are already digital. There seems to be a lot in store for PaperC.

We are excited to hear more from Bill and his adventures in the international publishing trade and keep you updated about potential co-operations. As Bill rightly pointed out: “Another busy day tomorrow” – let’s all keep our fingers crossed that it’s going to be a successful 2 days as well.
